The Valley Hospital and the Ridgewood Public Library Launch a New Walking Club, Healthy Steps Set for September 10
The Valley Hospital and The Ridgewood Public Library are proud to announce the launch of a new Walking Club called “Healthy Steps.” The Club will celebrate its launch with a special kickoff on Monday, September 10, at 6:30 p.m., at the Ridgewood Library at 125 N. Maple Avenue, Ridgewood. Healthy Steps is a 12-week program designed to encourage physical fitness among people of all ages in a fun and motivating atmosphere.
Walking regularly can help reduce the risk of health conditions, such as heart disease and diabetes. On Monday, September 10, meet your team leader, fellow walkers, and kick off the season with a presentation on the benefits of walking and the basics of getting started. Join Lara Vajas, M.S., Lead Exercise Physiologist, The Valley Hospital.
Baseline screenings will also be available at the kick off. The screenings will include blood pressure, weight, body fat analysis, waist and hip measurements, and a health age risk assessment.
Space is limited. To register or for more information, please call 201-291-6090 or www.valleyhealth.com/events.
Why would the Library team up with Valley hospital. Wouldn’t this be something the YMCA would do?
Why? Because Valley has a long connection to the library, partly through the Bolgers, and is working beyond hard to put its toe into every possible corner of this town in an attempt to ingratiate itself and nullify the lousy publicity caused by all these years of demanding to double in size despite endless protests by residents. Helping to fill the deep pockets of Valley’s marketing team are our property taxes, since as a “nonprofit” entity (har har), Valley goes scot free.
But Mayor Aronsohn is going to fix all that right? Has he come through on one campaign promise yet? He was so gung hoe on getting Gabbert fired, now nothing. What’s going on?
The library is branching out into exercise?
When are you people going to wake up?? Your self-agrandizing mayor made HUGE promises (as did the lovely Mrs. Hauck and “It’s Albert, not Al”, Pucciarelli) to all their library-hospital cronies. Pay attention….the library just got 100 grand to pay the salary increases/bonuses for the UNION employees (and not even a thank you note from Nancy Green) and you taxpayers are footing the bill. I guess that’s all part of Ahronson’s ZERO PERCENT BUDGETING. Perhaps he’ll lead the walks sporting those (wink-wink) work boots he hoofed around in while campaigning. Did you dolts miss that not-so-subtle nod to his “brothers & sisters” in the police and firemen’s unions?? Ever ask why he never made so much as a peep when those contracts were being negotiated?? Well, GUESS WHAT, Ken Gabbert had the spine to do the work councilman Ahroson didn’t have the stomach for. His compensation was PROMISED & EARNED and for saving the taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars in future union benefits he was maligned by a grandstanding, hack politician. I recommend reading the homage to Unions Ahronson has written, very easy to find on the web….that is unless Whitehorse Strategies has scrubbed it. Honestly Ridgewood have you fallen so far?? Next thing you know, you’ll be shocked to find out that Paul, Gwen and Al(bert) had been meeting with business owners, Chamber of Commerce members and fundraisers BEFORE the election…here’s a joke for y’all and it goes like this….A lawyer, a councilman and a blonde go into Blend…………
The Valley-Library connection in via John Saracino of Onyx along with Habernickel-Hauck. Follow the influence.
Is that the same John Saracino that former Mayor Phund taped to do the Walnut St garage? Is that the same John Saracino who is now involved with the new plan parking garages ? Is that the same John Saracino who gave a hefty contribution to our new Mayor campaign. Is that the same former Mayor Phund that on our new Mayor’s Tiger Team? ( Can anyone connect the dots?)
Is it Habernickel or Lava Light Hauck?
