Dear Valley Supporters,
The past few weeks have presented unprecedented challenges for our community. Throughout this crisis, Valley’s employees and medical staff have been working tirelessly to provide the best possible care to residents of our region. They are truly amazing – through their expert knowledge, compassionate care and innovative approaches to challenges faced on a daily basis – they get the job done. They deserve our collective thanks for the sacrifices they have made to care for Valley patients.
Many people have come to us and asked how they can help – there are several options:
- A fund, COVID-19 Response Efforts, has been established at The Valley Hospital Foundation. Any contributions to this fund will go directly to assisting in the massive efforts at the hospital to deal with this crisis, including the purchase of N95 masks, face shields or goggles, isolation gowns, nitrile gloves and other equipment and supplies essential to COVID-19 patient care. You can give online by clicking HERE or by sending a check payable to The Valley Hospital Foundation to 223 North Van Dien Avenue, Ridgewood, New Jersey 07450.
- You can directly donate the following equipment to the hospital:
– N95 masks
– Surgical masks
– Face shields or goggles
– Fluid resistant isolation gowns
– Non-latex (nitrile) gloves
We have established a drop-off site at the hospital’s main entrance at 223 North Van Dien Avenue in Ridgewood. Donations may be dropped off Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
- You can make a mask for our front line clinicians! We are providing kits with approved materials that you can take home, assemble, sew and return completed to us. We are currently in need of 1/8 inch elastic banding for the masks. If you have any, please drop off the banding in the container at the entrance to the Ridgewood Police Department on Maple Ave in Ridgewood. More details about picking up the kits will be available shortly.
Whatever you can do will be needed and appreciated. This crisis has reminded us why Valley was established and why it is so important to have a first-class healthcare system and facilities close by to address our own medical needs.
