Paramus NJ, the Valley Hospital is proud to announce that it is one of America’s 100 Best Hospitals for 2024, according to new research released by Healthgrades. This achievement puts Valley in the top 2% of hospitals nationwide for overall clinical performance across the most common conditions and procedures.
This marks the second consecutive year that Valley has been named one of America’s 100 Best Hospitals, having also received this distinction in 2023. In addition, Valley is 1 of only 3 hospitals in New Jersey – and the only hospital in Bergen County – to earn a spot on this list.
Valley also ranked among the top three hospitals in New Jersey for Neurosciences and Stroke Care.
“We are honored to once again be recognized as one of America’s 100 Best Hospitals by Healthgrades,” said Audrey Meyers, CEO, Valley Health System. “This prestigious award for clinical outcomes demonstrates the importance we place on delivering the highest-quality care and service to our patients and their families.”
To determine the top hospitals for 2024, Healthgrades evaluated risk-adjusted mortality and complication rates for more than 30 conditions and procedures at approximately 4,500 hospitals nationwide. This year’s analysis revealed significant variation between America’s Best 100 Hospitals and hospitals that did not receive the distinction. In fact, from 2020-2022, if all hospitals, as a group, performed similarly to America’s 100 Best Hospitals, 180,413 lives could have been saved.*
“Healthgrades commends The Valley Hospital for their leadership and continued dedication to high quality care,” said Brad Bowman, MD, Chief Medical Officer and Head of Data Science at Healthgrades. “As one of America’s 100 Best Hospitals, The Valley Hospital is elevating the standard for quality care nationwide and ensuring superior outcomes for the patients in their community.”

Much better than Hackensack Meridian Hospital Pascack Valley, Westwood where they sedate the aged elderly with Quetiapine! And cut the lifeline if your above a certain age without ANY terminal illness! They have the nerve to state “standard of care” was met! What about ” duty of care”!
Way to go Valley Hospital. Bury Pascack Valley Hospital!
I always like Valley Hospital, never had any problems, the only problem with the old Valley hospital was the emergency room was too small, but now we have a brand new hospital. Everything is going to be state of the yard. But just remember people in the end it’s a business. And they make hundreds a millions of dollars a year and they should’ve been paying taxes Ridgewood. The village supplied police, fire, EMTs, top quality on call Road emergency maintenance especially in winter. Yes, Valley did donate a lot of money to the village. But big deal they weren’t paying taxes they should’ve been paying at least 1 million in taxes a year.
State of the yard is right.
You made your point, and now we’ve lost them. You won. Proud of yourself?
actually a few years back things changed for hospitals in NJ. The current tax status is explained here: https://www.ballardspahr.com/insights/alerts-and-articles/2021/02/new-jersey-reinstates-property-tax-exemption-for-nonprofit-hospitals
Wow and to think we ran them out if town.
Who da thunk
Nobody ran them out of town. They outgrew the space.
Entirely not true.
Sorry I can’t agree about Valley Hospital being such great. My daughter was allowed to come home with problems they knew about. She came home with some pills a nurse came to check on preemies, she also took her pressure and wrote her off as fine. Next day she passed. Who’s to blame? The hospital for releasing her, the nurse for not reporting swollen legs, anxiety and high blood pressure? I believe Valley Hospital is highly culpable.
EXACTLY
These “awards” are given out like candy.
They RARELY are an indicator of excellence.
They are largely MARKETING Gimmicks and are used to elicit responses like the fawning comments seen above
