Ridgewood NJ, a severe “T-Bone” collision at the intersection of Kenilworth Road and Laurel Road on Monday morning, January 27, required two ambulances to transport three trauma victims to Hackensack University Medical Center (HUMC).
Details of the Incident
The crash involved a white Dodge Ram pickup truck and a silver Honda SUV, leaving both vehicles heavily damaged. Among the injured was a young child who was a passenger in the pickup truck. The child, along with the drivers of both vehicles, was transported to HUMC for medical care.
Ridgewood Fire Department (RFD) firefighters utilized hydraulic extrication tools to free the driver of the Honda SUV, who was trapped in the vehicle due to the crash’s impact.
Emergency Response
First responders from the Ridgewood Fire Department, Ridgewood Police Department, and EMTs worked swiftly to assist the victims. A paramedic team from The Valley Hospital provided additional support on-site and accompanied one of the ambulances to HUMC.
Both vehicles were cleared from the scene using flatbed tow trucks, ensuring the roadway was safe for traffic.
