Ridgewood NJ, no injuries were reported in connection with a late Thursday morning, 08/24, two (2) vehicle collision at the intersection of East Ridgewood Avenue and North Maple Avenue, Ridgewood. A Toyota minivan involved in the crash was propelled up onto a sidewalk and narrowly missed slamming into a nearby office building. Both vehicles were removed by a flatbed tow truck. Ridgewood Police responded to the incident.
Pedestrian safety activist Frank Geraghty also commented on the accident , ” This morning before midday while walking along Maple avenue I came across a two car accident outside Jersey Mikes. I do not know the circumstances of the accident which caused one car to actually cross the sidewalk. Sometime ago I predicted to Ridgewood Blog an accident would occur here because of east bound traffic on Ridgewood avenue making illegal left turn behind Jersey Mikes blocking traffic. This causes traffic chaos especially on a Saturdays.”
