Englewood Cliffs NJ, on Wednesday night, emergency responders from the Fort Lee Fire Department and the East Bergen High Angle Rescue Team undertook a difficult recovery mission at the Rockefeller Lookout along the Palisades Interstate Parkway. Reports of a possible jumper led to a coordinated effort beginning around 8 p.m., lasting into the early hours of Thursday.
Members of the rescue team, which includes firefighters from Fort Lee and Englewood Cliffs, arrived at the scene and quickly began the challenging task of locating the victim along the steep cliffside terrain. Working through the night, the team demonstrated remarkable precision and endurance. At approximately 1 a.m., they completed the recovery, bringing the operation to a close after five intense hours.
The Rockefeller Lookout, a popular viewpoint known for its stunning scenery, has also become a site of tragic incidents in recent years. This somber reality underscores the dedication and bravery of local firefighters.
