Ramsey NJ, the two southbound lanes on Route 17 in Ramsey were reopened after lanes in both directions were closed for much of the day Friday after a truck hit a utility pole.
Yesterday power lines were down across 17N and 17S, due to a motor vehicle accident involving a tractor-trailer. Hard closure at Lake St and N. Franklin Turnpike causing traffic delays and extensive power outages.

According to Ramsey Police, the truck driver sustained injuries and was transferred to a nearby hospital. He crashed into the pole in front of a BMW dealership on the southbound side of the highway and the pole was knocked over, prompting police to shut down both directions of the highway.
It is also being reported that 14 cars at the BMW dealership were damaged and a few others were completely totaled.
