Ridgewood NJ, two Ridgewood residents, Antonio Gines, 44, and Gianna Murphy, 36, were arrested earlier this month following an investigation into alleged prostitution activities, Ridgewood Police Chief Forest Lyons announced.
Details of the Arrest
On January 8, Ridgewood Police, assisted by the Bergen County Regional SWAT team, executed a search warrant at the suspects’ residence. This action followed an investigation that began in December 2024, after police received reports of potential prostitution occurring within the town.
Charges Filed
The investigation uncovered evidence leading to multiple charges:
- Antonio Gines:
- Promoting prostitution (third-degree offense)
- Unlawful possession of a weapon (third-degree offense)
- Certain persons prohibited from possessing a firearm (second-degree offense)
- Five counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance (third-degree offenses)
- Possession of drug paraphernalia (disorderly persons offense)
- Gianna Murphy:
- Possession of a controlled dangerous substance (third-degree offense)
- Engaging in prostitution (disorderly persons offense)
Ongoing Investigation
Chief Lyons stated that the investigation is still ongoing and encouraged anyone with information to contact the Ridgewood Police Detective Bureau at 201-670-5500 ext. 2423.
Legal Reminder
Authorities emphasized that all charges are accusations and that both defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
