the staff of the Ridgewood blog
Ridgewood NJ, Several sources have informed the staff of The Ridgewood Blog that the Village’s Signal Department and Parks Department were both hit by COVID-19 outbreaks within the past two weeks. The majority of employees in both departments were quarantined as a result of the outbreaks, which may or may not have been related. As a result of staff shortages, some routine and special work did not get done, including the placement of resident provided Christmas tree ornaments on two Village owned Christmas trees. We hope that no one was taken very ill, and that all affected employees are able to resume their normal jobs shortly.
As long as the Leaf Recovery team can work then I’m okay.
Hope those affected are recovering quickly.
But most of the Ridgewood public schools are still open open with over 65 reported positive cases and no testing of anyone who ventures into the school’s buildings. This is an unsafe situation and surely will contribute to further virus spread in our community. We all know that most unknown cases are really known by the parents but they continue to keep secret their whereabouts that caused a family member becoming positive and then allowing that individual to walk the halls of the schools.
Work teams riding from job site to job site in the same truck without face masks, would you expect anything less than an outbreak? Management should have mandated the use of masks on the job.
Well send them home just like the fire Dept. 14 day quarantine minimum. That’s the law.
Isn’t this interesting. What happened to all the protocols that they were doing back in April. How come some departments were working four hour shifts, or half on half off whatever happened to that. Did someone think that this virus was a joke, or it was just going to go away. Now deal with it. Now the governor is going to get involved. What protocols were done in the village of Ridgewood fire department. What are the procedures. Let’s inform the public. Instead of sweeping this under the carpet.
Just learned from another letter from the Ridgewood BOE that the closure of GWM will be extended until Dec 23 rd at which time the school will reopen. Reopen???? I guess someone wants to reopen for 1 day before the scheduled holiday break in order to gather indoors and have a party so more people can get infected. Somehow this insanity has to cease!!!
If you are sick , or feel yucky stay home .
Do you seriously think Heather would mandate any rules about wearing masks in trucks because of COVID ? Common really?
Heather plateaued out several years ago. She’s incapable of being innovative and of being on point.
Does anyone really think Heather or “management” should have to tell people to wear masks when they are in close proximity to one another. It’s kinda, sorta, been all over the news 24/7 for the past nine months. It kind of goes without saying.
It’s upper management responsibility to do so no matter what. So now when they send village and ploys home because of Covid, if they tested positive or not they are told to stay home guess what the village He’s going to pay the individuals. Not take time away from them. That’s the law. Cover Murphy did sign the rental lot back in April. And there is an ordinance number on that. And as an attorney we do have that number. If anybody would like it.
So I guess Heather and “upper management” have to tell them to watch their caloric intake, cholesterol, stop smoking, dont drink and drive, etc. Anyone ever hear of personal responsibility?
