United anticipates over 9.9 million passengers will fly with the airline between Dec. 19 and Jan. 6, marking a 12% increase compared to last year. This means nearly 520,000 travelers are expected to board United flights daily during the year-end holiday period—approximately 62,000 more passengers per day than in 2023.
Busiest Travel Days
The airline predicts its busiest days will be Dec. 27–28 (Friday-Saturday), joining Dec. 20 as peak travel dates when over 540,000 passengers are expected to fly.

Despite the surge in travelers, United is celebrating another achievement: record-breaking customer satisfaction scores during the Thanksgiving travel period.
“Even as the number of travelers grows, our operational performance and customer scores are at their highest level in years,” said David Kinzelman, Chief Customer Officer at United Airlines.
