Washington DC, Since the repeal of “net neutrality” took effect on June 11, the U.S. internet speed has gone from 12th to 6th fastest in the world. Critics claimed repealing net neutrality would cause the apocalypse. When FCC chairman Ajit Pai announced late last year that he would be repealing the Obama-era internet regulations known as “net neutrality.” Following this announcement, the internet went into an absolute frenzy.

The silly arguments ,made in support of “net neutrality”, which slowed internet speeds , lowered connectivity and allowed censorship in the guise of more government guided search results .Since 1995 the internet grew offering advanced connectivity , free flow of information and leveled the information playing field . In an attempt to control information the Obama administration tossed that all aside opting for more government control of the internet viewing the world wide web more as a utility .

The United States now trails only Singapore, Hong Kong, Iceland, Romania, and South Korea in overall broadband download speed. ( https://www.speedtest.net/global-index )
