
Bogota Man Charged with DWI After Striking Pedestrian Near Teaneck Cinemas

Teaneck NJ, A 53-year-old Teaneck resident remains in serious condition following a devastating Valentine’s Day accident involving an intoxicated driver. The incident, which occurred late Friday night, has led to multiple charges against a Bogota man, according to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.
Details of the Teaneck DUI Accident
The collision took place on February 14, at approximately 11:16 p.m. First responders were dispatched to the vicinity of Cedar Lane near Teaneck Cinemas, a busy hub in the township.
Upon arrival, authorities determined that a 2005 Nissan Sentra, driven by Tobias Aparicio Cruz, 55, of Bogota, had struck the pedestrian. The victim sustained life-threatening injuries and was rushed to Hackensack University Medical Center, where he remains hospitalized as of Monday.
Charges and Legal Proceedings
Following an on-scene investigation, Cruz was taken into custody by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and local police. He currently faces the following charges:
