Valley Home Care and Hospice Now Recruiting Volunteers for End-of-Life Doula Program

Valley Home Care and Hospice is currently seeking volunteers to be part of our End of Life Doula program, and invites those interested to sign up for our November training program. The training sessions will take place at the Valley Health Systems Kraft Building on 15 Essex Road, Paramus.

Specially trained volunteer doulas provide emotional, physical, and spiritual support to people who are dying and their loved ones. The volunteers work in shifts to help families deal with the around-the-clock demands for care as death approaches.

Those interested in reiki, massage therapy, and various healthcare or spiritual fields or services are also invited to contact us.

Valley Home Care and Hospice also offers volunteer opportunities as “Friendly Visitors” who visit the sick and home bound, provide them with socialization support and a friendly smile. We also have opportunities for volunteers to support our office staff with filing and other office duties.

Please contact Maria Salerno, Volunteer Coordinator at 201-291-6246 for the schedule for the training sessions, and for further information. You can also print our application package on line at www.valleyhealth.com, under “Valley Volunteers”.
