Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Fire Department personnel used a set of handheld forcible entry tools to free the adult female driver of a Toyota RAV4 who was pinned in her vehicle after it collided with a beverage delivery truck at the intersection of North Maple Avenue and Linwood Avenue early Wednesday evening, 06/01.

  1. Right on Red restriction signage for this busy corner might help slow down some of the avoidable risks ESP to pedestrians.Drivers barrel down towards the Graydon Pool corner to make the light and putting waiting cars turning left towards the library at risk for T Bone collisions.

  2. I was at Vets last night and heard the thump….I now understand how the tan SUV got hit (making a left into the library) but still can’t figure out what the Coors truck had to do with the accident….

This happened at about 5:55PM – couldn’t think of a worse time for this to happen with rush hour in full bloom and baseball / softball games about to start.

  3. Are the beverages ok???

  4. Last night 4 to 5 police there and the only one in intersection of Maple & Linwood..as I drive past he walked away from from the backed up packed intersection to join a discussion with 4 other police and emergency staff standing around circled
around the wreck and the tow truck.Ten year old then was on his own crossing Maple avenue.I was right there in car and can’t seem to understand the Police on scene priorities. The PSEG routine babysitting
of non emergency should be reviewed,Even at a per diem those police benefits are too costly for the taxpayers .police are needed elsewhere,I am sure the police and emergency PERSONEL otherwise did a great job at the accident,

  5. @12:00 – I can’t understand how the driver’s side can be hit making a left into the library.

  6. John – good point…maybe the SUV was making a right onto Maple…I think the Coors driver (the Banquet Beer) rear-ended the car in the middle which in turn plowed into the side door of the SUV…mystery solved.

What does Boyd have to say..?

  7. 1:43 I checked the pictures on Boyd’s Facebook page. Didn’t see any of what you described.

  8. My theory

Making a left on to Maple from the side street (Robinson?). Beverage truck coming south on Maple hit her on driver side, pushed her to the side of the road.

I assumed that the truck in the photo is the beverage truck. If not, I give up.

  9. 3:47 – better guess than mine….but was there a 3rd car involved…?

If not then the Coors Banquet Beer driver might have been enjoying some Colorado Cannabis and took his eyes off the road and plowed Mrs Robinson.

  10. Cracked me up, 12:04.
