Ridgewood NJ, the Ridgewood Health Department has declared the air quality in the Village of Ridgewood as unhealthy for June 7th and June 8th, 2023.
All outdoor programs and activities, special events and youth sports will be cancelled during this time period. The Graydon Pool will also be closed.

The Ridgewood Health Department has declared the air quality in the Village of Ridgewood as unhealthy for June 7th and June 8th, 2023. All outdoor programs and activities, special events and youth sports will be cancelled during this time period. The Graydon Pool will also be closed.
As of 9 AM for 6/7, the air quality in Ridgewood has been declared as unhealthy. With this declaration, the following is recommended:
People with heart or lung disease, older adults, children and teens:
- Avoid strenuous outdoor activities.
- Keep outdoor activities short.
- Consider moving physical activities indoors or rescheduling.
Everyone else: Choose less strenuous activities, shorten the amount of time you are active outdoors, or be active outdoors when air quality is better.

6/7: Air Quality Action Day for Particulate Matter (PM2.5) has been declared for Wednesday, June 7th! Levels of fine particulates will rise into the unhealthy category statewide on Wednesday and extend into the evening hours due to wildfire smoke transport from eastern Canadian wildfires. Some members of the general public may experience health effects, while members of sensitive groups, including those with heart or lung disease, the elderly, and the young, may experience more serious health effects. All individuals should limit strenuous activities and the amount of time active outdoors especially in the evening hours. In addition, ozone is forecast to reach the moderate category as sunny skies, light winds, and warm temperatures are forecast for the Garden State.
For 6/8, New Jersey Dept. of health is claiming that the air quality is unhealthy for sensitive groups. This means those with heart or lung disease, the elderly, and the young should limit strenuous activities and the amount of time active outdoors.

Sensitive individuals, including those with heart or lung disease, the elderly, and the young should limit strenuous activities and the amount of time active outdoors. Levels of fine particulates will remain elevated in the unhealthy for sensitive groups (USG) category statewide through Thursday and potentially into the evening hours due to wildfire smoke transport from eastern Canadian wildfires. Sunny skies are forecast for much of the day on Thursday however, clouds and showers will advance southward allowing ozone to reach the low moderate category especially for southern locations which will receive more sunshine.
