Ridgewood Nj, according to the Village Manager Keith Kazmark, the Village broke ground on the Veterans Field field lighting project. The project is a collaboration between the Parks & Recreation Department, Engineering and the Signal Division. Musco Lighting, the standard in the industry for sports field lighting, is the contracted vendor. The original lights were installed in the 1980’s. The upgraded lights will have LED technology, wil be directional and will reduce glare and spillage to neighboring properties. The project will light diamond sports fields for the first time ever in Ridgewood and will eliminate the need for portable lights, which rely on generator power. The new lighting should be completed for the Spring β€˜25 season.

    1. The small portion of the field bordering residences already had lighting. The new lighting should be more directional so less impact.

  2. Artificial turf to follow before new installations get banned.

  3. Keep on spending all that money, bankrupt, the town, race, taxes, or it will be time for again furlough

    1. ? Really? What are you saying?

  4. What will the repair cost be when Vets field routinely floods? Was this really necessary? Lights are already there. Major safety issues in town with pedestrianss being hit by cars and crashes all over but I guess sports takes top priority above all else.

    1. Sports, sports, and more sports. Our new motto.

  5. It would have costed a ton of money to replace the light bulbs with LED bulbs in the current portable lights..
LED only works with permanent lighting.. portable doesn’t work for LED
