Ridgewood’s Master Plan is a robust, comprehensive, and dynamic document that reflects our community’s collective vision for the future.
Although New Jersey requires only four elements in a municipal Master Plan, the Master Plan Committee, working with Heyer-Gruel, made a commitment to ensuring all elements were considered, updated as necessary, and included where relevant.
Community and stakeholder input gathered through the Visioning process provides the foundation for the Master Plan document.
The hope is everyone will have an opportunity to review this amazing document before the September 20, 2022 Planning Board Public Hearing.

It’s too bad we cannot convince Paramus to not approve the 7-11 and CVS right on the border with Ridgewood at the corner of E. Ridgewood Ave and Paramus Road. That’s one of the main gateways to Ridgewood and it’s going to look horrendous. Not to mention that the tranquility of the Duck Pond will be smashed. That corner is already a traffic nightmare.
Too bad it’s going through. Paramus doesn’t give two shits about Ridgewood . And guess what the seven-Eleven’s going to make a killing. Look how many Ridgewood kids go to 7-Eleven in Midland park, and that place is filthy.
Too bad Paramus officials are money hungry whores with no respect for their residents. All about the money….not a single thought about quality of life.
Paramus just wants to be Ridgewood.
Flooding is primarily caused by the drastic reduction in open space.
The water has only one place to go, and that’s the street, the storm sewer, and the stream at the bottom of the hill.
This is nothing new in Paramus they’ve been building like crazy for the past 25 years. If you think you’re seeing building now, wait until next year when I stop building at Garden state Plaza. They’re going to knock out that building down, it’s going to be half mall and half condos. Oh yes, If you think the traffic is bad now wait another five years.
Yes, but Garden State Plaza is in the heart of a commercial zone. CVS and 7-11, while zoned commercial, are in the middle of a residential area. You are replacing a tiny gas station and farm stand with a ginormous CVS (with drive-thru) and a 7-11. Apples to oranges comparison.
Oh the accidents.
Don’t get so hyped about a 7-11 and a CVS. look at the non stop apartment avalanche continuing in town until there is no more space available at which point they will start purchasing blocks of houses to raze down and build more high density buildings. It is what’s coming whether you like it or not. It may sound crazy now but it will happen. Ridgewood and all the other suburbs close to NYC are headed towards extinction and there is nothing that can stop it. We will be another Forest Hills or Park Slope in a few short years.
So very true, wait until they start developing A few other streets in a CBD that’s been planned for a long time. Down the road you’ll have a new mayor new counsel new manager all new top officials all new blood. Then comes the new disaster more development, and you and I are not going to stop it. You can yell and scream it’s not gonna do anything. Money talks bullshit walks baby. Hate to say it but it’s still going on. There’s a lot of small people in Ridgewood very well educated. But in the end money talks that buys power. Valley hospital will be come A very large development down the road. Or they will just shut it down and put a 20 foot fence around the whole site that the weed grow let the place go to shit and then people will cry.
We are done.
We’ve been done for decades at this point.
It’s just momentum that keeps us going, but momentum is not perpetual…
