the staff of the Ridgewood blog
Ridgewood NJ, This is Mayor Ramon Hache with a very important message. We have just been informed of the third confirmed case of COVID-19 in Ridgewood. The latest confirmed case is a 20 year old female. While the confirmation of additional cases is of great concern, I want to urge everyone to please remain calm. This is the time to work together to contain and prevent the spread of the virus. I urge you to please continue to exercise appropriate social distancing measures. It is the most effective thing we can do to avoid being infected or infecting others. Please continue to adhere to the recommendations of the CDC with regard to washing hands, disinfecting surfaces, and avoiding large gatherings. Common sense is still the best defense. We will continue to provide the latest information through our website, social media, text messages and telephone. We are also working on setting up an informational stream on the cable channels for any residents who do not have access to email, social media or text. Thank you and rest assured that together we will get through this.
COVID-19 CASES UPDATE 3/21/2020
There are now a total of 11 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ridgewood. Do not be alarmed but that number is expected to grow significantly as more people are tested. The best way we can attack that number is by exercising social distancing practices. PLEASE STAY HOME and avoid large groups. We now know that anyone can be infected. The youngest infected person is a 3 year old. So please make sure everyone in your household is protected.
Many of our restaurants and businesses are offering pickup and delivery services. Please go on FB (@RidgewoodHelps) or the Chamber of Commerce website for updates on participating businesses.
REMINDER: Please limit the number of nonessential phone calls and emails to the Health Department. As the number of cases continues to grow, so does the critical workload of the Health Department. The Health Department will be investigating each COVID-19 case, and will be working to ensure everyone who may have come in contact with an infected person is notified.
Thank you for your cooperation. Let’s continue to work together to keep each other safe.
The Mayor clearly has been focussed on his next Gig.
The common citizens and Taxpapers appreciate all the extra efforts of our local government .
We ask that no surprises ,,,excessive tax school or municipal taxes ratings or new fees or increases to current school or other taxes are slipped into any decisions
expected to come .
we deserve nothing less than this,
may you all be safe and well .
thank you
Will the May 1st due date for property taxes be pushed back?
Will the VC still push through with the 2.2% tax increase proposed in the 2020 municipal budget that they’d approved 4-1?
TIME TO CUT The nice to haves
Its close to a crisis VOR
We pay you folks to manage this extraordinary situation .
People are dying politicians
Agendas need to be adjusted
and we are on the hook for the previous overspending
Cancel the library and other spending
Plans
Replace the bathrooms paint and recarpet the library
Give the great employees a raise
We need to see a village cost reduction plan from the managers
No more SUVS for the police
What can be outsourced ? Longer term cleaning of offices schools etc
So sad this Village Council is raising taxes more than the rate of inflation, and not delaying payment due dates for the May 1st property taxes.
Why are they being so heartless when people are losing their jobs and income?
