Ridgewood NJ, the Village Council voted Wednesday limited play hours through Oct. 17, of Ridgewood Pickleballers .
The 60-day experiment approved in March restricted hours of play at Glen School and Bellair tennis courts, where neighbors had complained about noise. It was due to expire Aug. 7.
Pickleball play will continue to be limited to 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday, and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. No pickleball will be allowed Monday and Friday.
Tennis play can continue from 8 a.m. to dark Sunday through Saturday.
The ordinance called “a compromise for the competing interest of both the pickleball players and the neighbors.” will continue to limited pickleball hours.
Village Council also approved an ordinance in April limiting pickleball passes to residents, imposing a $20 annual fee for seniors who previously played for free, and raising the daily pass fee from $5 to $10.
Another example of over reach by the council. After months of discussion, mitigation on the part of Parks and Recreation, hundreds of residents speaking out in favor of the program and concerns about locked courts, the mayor disregards the community and plans to speak to the two nay sayers privately. One by the way uses the courts for private tennis lessons and the other is new to the town who is not living there as the house is under construction.
Why is this such a problem. There are so many more important things to be worrying about in town that is nonsense.
This is such nonsense, waste of time waste of money.
This story has made the Star Ledger and even Channel 12.
Not a good look for the town.
It was on Channel 2 last night.
“Not a good look for the town.”
Are you fucking kidding me?
Since when is a “look” a thing anymore in Ridgewood.
The damage was complete with the “great schools” liberal sell outs.
Pathetic jerks. I hated living in ridgewood for this very thing. Over privilege asshokex with nothing better to do than complain about nothing. So glad to be out of that town.
