Evan Weitz 1736 30.47%
Bernadette Coghlan-Walsh 3611 63.37%
Richard S. Brooks 1656 29.06%
Ramon M. Hache 3867 67.87%
Ridgewood NJ, Voigt, Hache and Walsh in a Landslide Victory in Ridgewood Council Race .Six candidates were running for three, four-year terms on the Ridgewood Village Council in this year’s non-partisan election. In what could only be called one of the most contentious elections in many years. With None of the three incumbents seeking re-election it was a wide open race .
The Mayor , developers , Chamber of Commerce , and Ridgewood Guild endorsed Willett , Brooks and Weitz who failed to impress the public with their message of build build build . While Voigt, Hache and Walsh focused more on a vision of keeping the small town feel to Ridgewood. It was above all else a resounding rejection of Mayor Paul Aronsohn’s policies , a rejection of over development, machine politics , professional politicians and a blatant disregard for residents desires .

Like I predicted, the big endorsement from Gwenn was certainly the kiss of death for RIch Brooks – lowest vote getter tonight.
This is wonderful news. Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make sure our Village remained a Village. I look forward to having our new Village Council work together for the betterment of our town. Kudos to all involved.

Curious to see the voting by district…especially Salem Ridge (Schedler Stadium)…
Since the vast majority of voters seem to have not given a rat’s ass about retaining our current Village Manager, boot her ass out on July 2. Ask Jackie Hone to personally deliver the termination notice.

But as someone else pointed out, the democratic party machine that the losers are a post of controls everything in the county and the state, including courts.
I am a little bit worried that they may unload their full wrath on this hostile (to their interests) council just to teach everyone a lesson.

Subsequent victory party at The Office Beer Bar & Grill was noisy and excited. Mike and Susan happily posed for photos with Ramon and Bernie (Jeff arrived later) and made short speeches to much cheering.
