WALDWICK – Police are warning residents to travel in pairs after two men reportedly tried to get an adult female jogging on Douglas Street on Sunday morning to get into their car.

The 40-year-old woman was running about 10 a.m. when a black Nissan pulled up beside her with two male occupants who tried to coax her into the car, said Waldwick Det. Sgt Douglas J. Moore.

“She declined and continued on her run, yelling to another woman on the street to call police,” Moore said.

The woman told police the men were white, in their 20s, and one had long dark hair, Moore said. The car had darkened windows, he said.

“They made no effort to exit the car,” Moore said. “They left the area once she declined.”

The luring follows two reported attempts on Oct. 25 and last Friday in Ridgewood near George Washington Middle School.
