Wave of reforms result in lower salaries for police and firefighters
After years of winning at the negotiating table, cops and firefighters across New Jersey are losing and walking away these days with much less money.
Since January of 2011 — following a wave of reforms that capped municipal spending and arbitration awards — police and firefighter unions have signed at least 160 new contracts, according to the Public Employment Relations Commission. (Renshaw/Star-Ledger)
About time.
jjj..your just mad because your broke ass doesn’t make as mush as they do!!
talk about over paid, yea by 20 grand or so. the police have the biggest over time accounts around. they should hire 2 or 3 more cops . but the ones that are on now would cry because they would louse o t. right bro,
#3 the cop union gave back to the town so the town could hire more cops gabbert said they would hire 4 but the town hired 2 instead 2 guys retire and right back to the beginning, wait till you see the ot, at the end of 2015 when 6 guys retire and the town hasn’t hired any replacements, oooooohhhhh baby. The cops will need a wheel barrel to carry their money to the bank, and god bless em it’s the towns fault not the cops.
