Ridgewood NJ, in a new a new National Bureau of Economic Research paper says the media here in the U.S. went too far and created a climate of fear and even panic. In their paper titled “Why Is All COVID-19 News Bad News?” Scholars from Dartmouth College and Brown University analyzed the tone of COVID-19 related news articles written since January 1. They found a big difference in the way US media covered the pandemic compared to media in other countries.
“Ninety-one percent of stories by U.S. major media outlets are negative in tone versus fifty-four percent for non-U.S. major sources and sixty-five percent for scientific journals,” the authors concluded. “Stories of increasing COVID-19 cases outnumber stories of decreasing cases by a factor of 5.5 even during periods when new cases are declining.”
This imbalance in media coverage created a climate of fear. As the Foundation for Economic Education has reported:
“Americans and, worse, lawmakers, began to respond to the virus in irrational ways. Basic virology went out the window as ’15 days to flatten the curve’ devolved into a mad idea that we must close down society and shelter from the virus, unleashing unprecedented restrictions on economic freedom and destroying untold numbers of lives and livelihoods in the process. This is the power of fear.”
Simply, because it was a gift from above to Democrats and their allies, the msm. They used it as a political tool and it got them mail in voting and the ability to cheat their way in.
Yup 100% to get Trump out and they still had to cheat to accomplish it. As we now see the China Virus had a purpose . There was cheating in the election and I’m tired of hearing that there was no evidence, there was in fact plenty.

They have been keeping people from becoming naturally and effectively inoculated through contact with asymptomatic #covid carriers in order to put out a vaccine that will be ineffective as virus mutates and potentially dangerous.
Of course it was and is bad need. However, Democrats seized upon a fantastic opportunity.
We’ve been ON THE BRINK! since the end of summer. Hospital capacity is misleading bc there is such a thing as surge capacity and the hospitals are filling up now while they are still treating all other patients. Garbage news for cable-watchers.
Of course Covid was a gift to Democrats. It’s why no serious Dems entered the race as before Covid, it just seemed like a slam dunk for Trump and the serious ones wanted to keep their powder dry for 2024. So the Dems put forward the parade of idiots to fall, but the gift was so fantastic that the idiots won. Without the cheating, it would not have worked.
