William Shatner of ‘Star Trek’ ready to go to space for real

Ridgewood NJ, Blue Origin is set to launch William Shatner into space at around 9:30 am ET. Shatner is set to become the oldest person to go to space at 90 years old. The mission was scheduled for October 12, but it was pushed back due to forecasted high winds. Three other people will be on the mission. The livestream is set to begin at around 8:30 am ET.

William Shatner is the Canadian Emmy Award-winning actor famous for portraying Captain James Tiberius Kirk of the starship Enterprise in all 79 aired episodes of Star Trek: The Original Series, 21 of the 22 episodes of Star Trek: The Animated Series, and the first seven Star Trek movies. He also directed and co-wrote the story for. Shatner represents part of a small, yet growing population of non-professional spaceflyers, most of whom paid lots of money for the opportunity to join the space race .
