Wyckoff NJ, a tragic incident occurred in which a 79-year-old woman lost her life in a fire that consumed a home on Meer Avenue. Here are the key details:

  • The fire was reported in the Township, and authorities responded to a 911 call at 12:05 p.m. on a Sunday.
  • The victim has been identified as Virginia Ingenito, a 79-year-old resident of the Township.
  • Unfortunately, Virginia Ingenito was found unresponsive by the police who arrived at the scene, and she was subsequently pronounced dead.
  • Volunteer firefighters, with the assistance of several neighboring fire departments through mutual aid, worked to extinguish the blaze.
  • The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office has stated that its Major Crimes Unit is conducting an investigation into the fire, in collaboration with local detectives.
  • The home where the fire occurred is located at 481 Meer Ave., and it is situated less than half a mile from Eisenhower Middle School, which is on Calvin Court.
