
12-Year-Old Critically Injured After Being Struck by Vehicle in New Milford

New Milford NJ, A severe collision in Bergen County left a 12-year-old child in critical condition and another young resident injured on Friday afternoon, August 28, local authorities reported.
According to New Milford Police Chief Brian Clancy, the crash occurred at approximately 2:00 PM on Reichelt Road when a Toyota struck two 12-year-old children.
Crash Details and Medical Emergency
At the time of the impact, one of the children was riding a scooter while wearing a safety helmet. Despite wearing protective headgear, the child sustained a serious head injury and was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
The second child, who was traveling on foot, suffered minor injuries.
Both victims, identified as local New Milford residents, were transported to Hackensack University Medical Center for urgent treatment, where they were reunited with their parents.
Driver Cooperation and Ongoing Investigation
The driver of the Toyota, identified as a 57-year-old male resident of New Milford, remained at the scene following the incident and was fully cooperative with law enforcement officials.
