Ridgewood NJ, Due to two recent separate positive COVID-19 cases of unknown origin in each school, Benjamin Franklin Middle School and Ridgewood High School will transition to all remote learning , Wednesday, November 25, 2020.
In-person instruction will resume on Wednesday, December 9, 2020. Benjamin Franklin Middle School and Ridgewood High School students should not participate in out-of-school activities during this time of remote learning. The situation is fluid and updated information from the NJDOH may alter this return date.
After a careful review, the district in coordination with the Ridgewood Health Officer was not able to identify a clear connection or origin of infection between the two cases. Therefore, according to the NJDOH COVID-19 Regional Risk Matrix and the Ridgewood Health Officer, it is recommended that we transition to remote learning.
All close contacts have been identified and notified. If you have not been notified then your child has not been determined to be a close contact.
RHS principal tested positive I was told…
Did they really find two unrelated cases or did they just used that as an excuse to close for Thanksgiving.
Too bad if it is true the principal of RHS tested positive as I understand he is to become the interim superintendent once Fishbein leaves in December. And it is too bad that the BOE did not more proactively address the increasing number of virus cases earlier at these schools which by NJ state BOH guidelines should have resulted in earlier closures. Moreover, it is really too bad and sad to think that many Ridgewood parents might not have told the absolute truth in contact tracing interviews as the cases continued to increase.
But It is good to learn that at least the New Jersey State Board of Health is monitoring this unsafe situation at the schools since Fishbein’s letter indicates things are in a fluid state with the implication of different guidelines possibly to come .
It is our hope that once the schools are allowed to open again, the Ridgewood Board of Education, in addition to cleaning and disinfecting the buildings, should institute a rigorous virus testing program to ensure all staff and students are negative before they are allowed to enter either of the schools buildings.
Like we said if you’re not feeling well please stay home. Don’t be a hero.
Like we said last week shut it down. Screw it let’s be safe and let’s see what happens. Too many nitwits going to work and going to school sick and making everyone else sick stay the hell home. I blame the upper professionals for not properly informing people. That if you’re sick please stay home.
Everyone hide.
Hide in your basement.
Restrict yourself, cede your self governance and be subservient to the much smarter people in government.
Remember, safety is paramount.
It is quantity of life, not quality of life that is desirous.
You know what’s amazing we all know COVID-19 is bad. But in the past we have had many viruses and flu epidemic‘s running wild. and never ever did management wherever you worked tell their employees please if you’re not feeling well stay home, we don’t need you Spreading your virus to the rest of our employees. That’s what sick time is for. We find that just to be amazing and selfish. It’s really time to grow up and be smart.
No you don’t need to hide in your basement. People need to take question. There’s way too many individuals going to work or school sick. Some of these individuals think that the place can’t run without them, dream on. Well they just too scared and stupid. Which is it.
GOVERNMENT is the only one who is smart enough to TELL US WHAT TO DO.
We are too stupid to use any common sense to protect ourselves or others.
We MUST BE TOLD and we MUST BE CONTROLLED.
This is a VIRUS you know. A VIRUS !!!!
We will ALL DIE if we are not told WHAT WE CAN and CANNOT DO!
We CANNOT BE TRUSTED to care for ourselves.
