the staff of the Ridgewood blog
Ridgewood NJ, Whether you are a daily commuter, a local business owner, or someone who just loves dining at Ridgewood’s premier restaurants, the Village of Ridgewood wants to hear from you.
The Village has officially launched a comprehensive Downtown Parking Survey, and your feedback is the key to unlocking a more convenient, accessible Central Business District (CBD).
Why Your Input Matters
Parking in Ridgewood has long been a topic of conversation. To move beyond temporary fixes, the Village has partnered with Walker Consultants to conduct an in-depth professional parking study.
By taking five to ten minutes to complete this anonymous survey, you are providing the data needed to shape long-term infrastructure and policy decisions.
What the Survey Covers
The study is taking a deep dive into every aspect of the parking experience, including:
-
Current Policies: Is the 3-hour limit working?
-
Rate Structures: Are parking fees fair and effective?
-
Technology: How user-friendly are the current kiosks?
-
Permit Purchasing: Can the process for employees and residents be improved?
The Deadline: Friday, May 22
This is a limited-time opportunity to make your voice heard. All responses are confidential and will be analyzed by the consulting team to form a practical roadmap for the future of Ridgewood’s downtown.

Here comes another parking garage
How much was the revenue in the parking Authority last year, and how long is it going to take to finish paying off the last stupid parking garage that’s never been filled, it should’ve been utilized for other events, or companies like car dealers in the area.
Vagianos and puppets are going to keep borrowing until our credit ratings drop.
Busiest time of the week is free.
The restaurants clamored for a deck and now don’t want to pay the tab.
$18.00 martinis are alright though.
Don’t forget to add the price of the extra large brass plaque with their names on the new parking garage.
I started the online survey. Long, tedious, repetitive – and never finished it. Didn’t sound serious, at all.
The survey does not ask the right questions. One of the issues to be addressed is the need for more quick stop in spaces for Uber Eats and Door Dash drivers. They are causing a nuisance by sliding into spots that are not parking spots, blocking the view of pedestrians in crosswalks and causing other traffic issues. Why not designate a couple of spaces for them in the downtown hot spots? The west side has quite a few 15 min spots near Puzo’s and the wine store for quick pop ins however the drivers picking up at Toastique slide into no parking zones. I would like to see the uber/door dash drivers have a plan that does not include illegal parking or leaving hazards on and blocking traffic.
