Ridgewood’s Green Legacy: How to Get a Free Shade Tree for America250
the staff of the Ridgewood blog
Ridgewood NJ, The Village of Ridgewood is on a mission to restore its iconic tree canopy, and you can play a direct role in making the Garden State a little greener. After successfully planting 140 trees in 2025 to combat the effects of severe weather and invasive pests, the Village has set an even more ambitious goal for the coming year.
In honor of America250, Ridgewood aims to plant 250 new trees across the community in 2026. This initiative isn’t just about aesthetics; it’s about restoring the natural shade, improving air quality, and preserving the local ecosystem that makes our Village unique.
