ISELIN, NJ — In its newly released 2026–2027 Best Hospitals rankings, U.S. News & World Report has once again named Hackensack University Medical Center the #1 hospital in New Jersey. The medical center also earned the prestigious distinction of hosting the state’s only nationally ranked cancer program.
Ranked #4 overall in the competitive New York-New Jersey Metropolitan Area, Hackensack University Medical Center remains the only hospital in New Jersey ranked #1 for both adult and pediatric care.

Hackensack University Medical Center’s cancer program—led by the John Theurer Cancer Center—ranked #38 nationally and #6 in the NY-NJ Metro Area, making it the premier destination for complex oncology care in the state.
