Hackensack Police Raid Apartment Near Carver Park: Narcotics Seized and Four Dogs Rescued

Hackensack NJ, A Crime Suppression Bureau investigation triggered by an anonymous community tip led to the arrest of a 38-year-old Hackensack resident on multiple drug distribution and animal cruelty charges.

Members of the Hackensack Police Department Crime Suppression Bureau, assisted by the Emergency Services Unit, executed a court-authorized search warrant at an apartment on Second Street—located directly across from Carver Park and adjacent to public housing.

Seizure of Illegal Drugs and Paraphernalia

During the raid, detectives recovered a wide assortment of illegal narcotics packaged for street-level sales, along with distribution equipment:

• Prescription Medications: Oxycodone, Xanax, Adderall, and Promethazine

• Controlled Substances: Ecstasy and marijuana

• Paraphernalia: Digital scales and packaging materials used for narcotics distribution

Animal Cruelty Charges and Dog Rescue

In addition to the illegal narcotics, officers discovered four dogs locked in cages without food or water. Bergen County Animal Control was immediately dispatched to the scene to rescue the animals and take them into safe custody.

The suspect, identified as Ramarr Pannell-Bishop, was served with complaint warrants at the Bergen County Correctional and Rehabilitation Center, where he was already being held on an unrelated charge. The formal charges include:
