Ridgewood NJ, In an interesting turn of events Ridgewood ‘s own Paul Vagianos of Its “Greek to Me ” has announced his candidacy ,running as Democratic for State Assembly – District 40.
The campaign will host a major fund raiser on May 9th , Vagianos is relative unknown outside of Ridgewood. So the question is why didn’t our Mayor throw his hat into the ring? He has more name recognition and political background and he has developed a strong friendship with State Senator Kevin O’Tool . Could it our mayor Paul Aronsohn has other plans or is there some other issues like his unenthusiastic support for the Roy Cho campaign against Congressmen Scott Garrett or maybe even some potential fallout from the Bob Menendez blow up with President Obama ?

Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Just another progressive statist determined to make our decisions for us because we don’t know enough make the right ones on our own.
The planters in front if “It’s Greek to Me”, always a fire safety hazard, need to be removed. They block access to the building from the street by fire crews and their equipment and would be the first thing they would knock down in the event of an actual fire. Why has this restaurant never been cited for this blatant code violation?
Paul Vaggianos is well suited for NJ politics. As a local businessman he has his hand in the taxpayers’ pockets. He is personally disagreeable. He is a crony of Paul Aronsohn who has his hand in his pocket for Paul’s next office, since his mayor days will be over next year. Taxpayers should recall Vaggianos’ toilet tax proposal. It’s a Paumance?
huh, now I know why the council was kissing his ass.
I assume that he is being proposed because Democrats have exactly zero chance of winning. Even still it is surprising that the Bergen Democratic party could not find anyone with a tad more credibility. Where is Ferriero when you need him?

Exciting New Jersey State Assembly Race Seeking Interns
New Jersey is one of the few states in the U.S. that have major state elections in 2015 where all 80 seats in the State Assembly are at the top of the November ballot. Paul Vagianos and Christine Ordway are the Democratic candidates for State Assembly in New Jersey’s 40th Legislative District, which includes portions of Bergen, Essex, Passaic, and Morris counties.
The Vagianos and Ordway for N.J. Assembly campaign is currently seeking full-time and part-time interns for this summer and/or fall. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone who wants to gain valuable political campaign experience and build their resume by working on a top-of-the-ticket race this year.
Summer internships will begin in May and June and will be located in our campaign office in Ridgewood in northwestern Bergen County (easily accessible by public transportation). A wide array of specialized positions is available; the campaign is seeking highly motivated individuals capable of taking on real and significant responsibility.

● Organizing constituency groups based on your pre-existing connections and interests
● Assisting with candidate scheduling, logistics, and direct support

Please send a resume and cover letter and any questions you may have to info@vagianosordway.com Our team will work with you to secure college credit where applicable. Previous campaign experience is helpful but not necessary.
Tough to get your feet wet running against O’Toole. Somebody had to do it.
They hope to capitalize on Hilary Clinton’s popularity.
Where our Mayor in all this? Doesn’t he have a yearning for high office ?
4:14 PM: Although O’Toole is almost certainly going to be on the ballot, he represents us in the state senate, not the assembly. So O’Toole (R) doesn’t have to lose for Vagianos & Ordway to win. Russo and Rumana (both “R”) are the assembly incumbents in the 40th district and will likely be V & O’s opponents in the general election in November if the latter survive the June primary.
