the staff of the Ridgewood blog
THIS JUST IN:
Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Police Department patrol officers are reportedly unable to issue any summonses for unlawful parking in metered spaces because none of them have access to the ParkMobile database. Without access to the ParkMobile database, patrol officers have no way of knowing whether a vehicle is lawfully parked.
Rumor has it that only the three Ridgewood Parking Enforcement Agents are able to issue summonses in connection with metered parking offenses.
There goes a sizable revenue stream; an additional burden for taxpayers to assume in connection with the parking garage construction.
One step forward, five steps backward , well Roberta?
Someone clearly didn’t do their job in managing this project. This enforcement aspect is a really fundamental component of implementing the new meters. If something comparable had happened in my line of work, the person responsible would be looking for new job.
I can’t remember the last time anyone at Village Hall got fired for incompetence. Can you Declan?
What is your line of work, D.H.? The manufacture of (non-anonymous) snark? JKLOLOL….
Roberta needs to go NOW

So Declan is under your skin? Must be you voted for the EZPASS parking meters.
KISS… should have kept the quarters and provided better security and accounting around that system.
Hey, come on now, the new system is great and the name-dropping deputy mayor can use it in Boulder Colorado with great ease. Who cares if we are losing a ton of money? He loves it and that is all that matters.
“My line of work” is no different to any of us here who work in the real world (i.e. the private sector), where hirings, firings, raises, promotions, references, being selected when downsizings occur, etc., are inextricably linked to performance.
Ken Gabbert would have nailed this Paulie.
When was the last time any Rpd officer got out of a squad car and issued a ticket for overtime parking?
Actually….when was the last time one ever wrote a parking ticket for any violation without a call from central dispatch in response to a complaint?
I do not park in town much. I am not signing up for an app that I only use in town.
I am not giving my credit card to this organization
When Tom Hillman reported that the cops were not issuing parking tickets in the CBD; our Village Manager said they were too busy with other duties. Why no mention, by our V.M., of the cops inability to access the Park Mobile data system. What a complete lack of transparency!
Well I guess there goes some of the income to pay for their parking garage. I win for the Chamber of Commerce. No parking tickets and we don’t have to pay for the garage.
One more excuse to never get out of the crown Victoria
go back to the old way.
This seems to me like a big story that is being buried under the cloak of no transparency. Does Roberta have blisters on her fingers from digging deep, with the shovel to cover this story up???
