Maple Avenue Paving Project: Road Closure & Parking Guide for Ridgewood Residents

the staff of the Ridgewood blog

Ridgewood NJ, If you’re planning to travel through downtown Ridgewood in late July, expect upcoming traffic detours. The County of Bergen is scheduled to pave a major stretch of Maple Avenue between Linwood Avenue and Franklin Avenue between Wednesday, July 29 and Friday, July 31.

Because paving operations are heavily weather-dependent, officials will announce the exact paving dates early next week.

Road Closures & Accessible Facilities

During active paving operations, this section of Maple Avenue will be completely closed to vehicular traffic.

Despite the road closure, key municipal facilities and popular community sites will remain open for normal operations:

  • Village Hall

  • Ridgewood Public Library

  • Ridgewood Water

  • Veterans Field

Where to Park & How to Access Facilities

Visitors planning to visit Village Hall, the library, or Veterans Field during the closure should plan their routes accordingly:

  1. Park at the Graydon South Lot: Drivers should park in the Graydon South Lot during construction hours.

  2. Pedestrian Access Options:

    • Walk down Linwood Avenue directly to your destination.

    • Take the pedestrian footbridge connecting the Graydon South Lot directly to Veterans Field.

Plan extra travel time and follow local detour signage in the area.
