Paramus NJ, more trees in the news, hearings for the temple on Spring Valley Road in Paramus, are set to continue on November 9, with growing public attention focused on a reported 300-year-old tree that may be removed if the expansion plan proceeds. The Paramus Board of Adjustment will convene at East Brook Middle School to discuss the proposed expansion of the Swaminarayan Gurukul Cultural Center at 195, 199, and 205 Spring Valley Road. Concerns about the removal of the tree have been expressed by the public, and the matter was discussed in a public hearing held on October 26.

  1. Long live the tree

  2. They just don’t want a different religion to come and build a prayer center in Paramus.

  3. Shiva: Destroy the tree.
    Vishnu: Preserve the tree.
Brahma: There is no creation without destruction.

Sorry, Vishnu, looks like the tree is out. But don’t fret. The tree was only ever a model of a tree in the mind of Brahman. It had no real existence.

  4. How do we know it’s 300 years old..?

  5. Organized religion is the bane of mankind.
