The end of the year is always a busy time, but I want to take a few moments to say goodbye and wish Ridgewood well as I complete my tenure as Interim Superintendent and welcome incoming superintendent Mark Schwarz.
I have enjoyed my time with Ridgewood Public Schools. It is a community of academic, athletic, and musical and theatrical talent. It is filled with caring staff members, exceptional students, and a strong community that supports the schools each and every day.
On behalf of the entire RPS administration, I would also like to recognize our retirees for their service to our schools and our students. To our district-wide team of administrators, teachers, educational service professionals, support staff and paraprofessionals, we extend our sincere thanks and appreciation for your leadership, dedication, knowledge, and expertise day in and day out. Whether teaching in a classroom, serving in an office, cleaning our halls, tending to our properties, healing a wound, drying a tear, or offering words of support and assistance to parents, you and the work you provide are invaluable to the success of Ridgewood Public Schools. Likewise, to the parents and caregivers who support the work of our schools from home, we thank you for being our students’ first and lifelong educators, and we appreciate the work that you do to support our work here in the Ridgewood Public Schools.
As we close one school year and prepare for a new one, I bid congratulations to the RPS seniors on their high school graduation! I wish a safe, fun, and happy summer to our entire school community. May it be filled with time to refresh and rejuvenate as well as new learning experiences during time spent with friends and family.
Again, congratulations and best wishes to all of our graduates! You make RPS Maroon Proud!
Dr. Leonard Fitts
Interim Superintendent

His speech at last nights commencement ceremony was excellent. That man is a sport’s good luck charm but more importantly, he resided over the good management of our school system. No one is ever perfect but fair to say, a good job by all as far as my children’s education is concerned. BTW, anyone interested in a well maintained Tudor?
see ya….
