Washington DC, just a reminder , July 5th, 2021, is a federal holiday .All non-essential federal employees are off work in observance of Independence Day. (Note: Independence Day is observed on July 5th because July 4th falls on a weekend)
July 5th is also a State of New Jersey Holiday .New Jersey state government offices are closed on all holidays and state workers are paid for the time off. Private employers are not required to pay for holidays even if the business closes. In addition, they are not required to pay a higher rate of pay if the employee works on a holiday.
