Incident Details
Witnesses reported seeing a suspect tying a pit bull to a street sign before leaving the area in a black Acura sedan. Upon arrival, officers discovered the neglected dog, which had a large tumor protruding from its mouth. Bergen County Animal Control quickly took custody of the pit bull, transporting it to the Bergen County Animal Shelter for care.

The dog was found to have a microchip that is 10 years old, though officials are uncertain if it leads back to the most recent owner. The chip traces back to New York City, according to Chief Kenny.
