Fair Lawn Nj, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of ERIK A. CRUZ (DOB: 01/12/1983; single; unemployed) of 3907 Northern Drive, Fair Lawn, NJ on drug distribution charges. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love.
On April 28, 2023, an investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotic Task Force revealed that ERIK A. CRUZ was transporting bulk shipments of narcotics through Bergen County. During the investigation, a search was conducted on CRUZ’s vehicle, which revealed approximately 20 pounds of marijuana, approximately one-half pound of psilocybin mushrooms, and approximately 25 pounds of hashish.
As a result of the investigation, ERIK A. CRUZ was arrested and charged with first-degree possession with intent to distribute hashish, N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5b(10)(a); second-degree possession with intent to distribute marijuana, N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5b(10)(b); and third-degree possession with intent to distribute psilocybin mushrooms, N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5b(13). CRUZ was released on his own recognizance pending his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ.
Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations, and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and he would like to thank the Saddle Brook Police Department for its assistance in this investigation.
