Paramus NJ, Bergen Community College Class of 2023 graduates Mana Mehdizadeh and Yoav Aharon received $10,000 Hites Transfer Scholarships from Phi Theta Kappa! The Hites Transfer Scholarship recognizes students with sterling records of academic achievement, leadership, and community engagement, and is awarded by Phi Theta Kappa- the honor society of junior colleges.
Mana was Bergen Community College’s Class of 2023 valedictorian, and spent her time at Bergen Community College as a tutor and academic coach, was vice president of service for Phi Theta Kappa, and also served as an intern for New Jersey State Representative Shama Haider.
Yoav majored in sociology at Bergen Community College , and during his time there he was the vice president, chief justice, and chair of the academic committee of the Student Government Association, and also completed a research internship for John Hopkins University.
Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco said in a Facebook post, “Congratulations Mana and Yoav! You two are prime examples of the bright minds that our Bergen Community College produces. I am so proud!”
