Ridgewood NJ, Bergen County Historic Preservation Specialist weighs in on the acquisition of 510 West Saddle River Road and the Trust Fund Executive agrees. Now the Village of Ridgewood has to spend more money on yet another Expert Historical Assessment, the Schedler Project is again delayed, and 510 West Saddle River Road property will most likely be deemed historical as well. The Village Council Majority keeps taxing residents in every way.

In a letter Historic Preservation Specialist Elain Gold stated that while the home on the 2nd property at 510 West Saddle River Road is not historic , the close proximity to the Old Paramus Church and the fact that archaeology does not recognize lot lines means the property could offer the same historical opportunities as the Zabriskie-Shedler home and property.

  1. Priceless. Please go back to original plan and stop this insanity and waste of money the village doesn’t have.

  3. Affordable housing. Close to highway.

If it’s not going to be a field as planned then sell it. Will fetch a great price. Win-win.

  4. Stop the affordable housing and selling taunts. The Village bought the property with grants. On every single application, and the Deed of Conservation Easement attached to the land/money spent, all the land can ever be is OPEN SPACE for green/recreation (passive and active).

    1. And a business apparently. Haha. Can’t make it up

  5. What a bunch on dumb dumbs! It’s like watching Wile E. Coyote (Paul-e) and the Road Runner (Schedler Group/Plan). Can’t wait to see the sledge hammer come down on the Peter Primavera puppet, bought straight from the Acme Corporation.

  6. Using the Mayor’s only reply to residents during public comment, Thank YOU!

    1. Don’t forget “I understand”!

  7. As the Village Engineer pointed out in January, had they continued with the 2017 plan (as Siobhan promised during her campaign) the park would be finished right about now.

    1. NIMBYs are never happy

  8. sell that crap piece of land to a developer, make some money and collect taxes going forward

  9. Good going dummy”s what a shit show.

  10. Pee Wee and his puppets think they can get around everything. The Village evedently needs better counsel, I thought Matt was smarter or just cant’t say no to Pee wee who wants a new Playhouse.

  11. I have heard from very reliable sources that the Mayor is now asking BOE president to do his bid and rally support from the school administrators for his plan for sports fields. Don’t forget that the board president works for the Mayor!

  12. More money to spend that they don’t have. No overtime for zip.

  13. You don’t see one person playing on that ball field over in Hohokus on Route 17 South. Never ever is there a game there. To put a giant field on a major highway is irresponsible and a total waste of taxpayer’s money. Sure, the novelty of a new field will be great until someone is hurt or worse. Then no one will ever want to play there. To top it off, many of Ridgewood’s fields go unused, so it is total hogwash that they need one here and need to spend 500k for bathrooms and a parking lot.

  14. BOE President works for Mayor? Please explain.

  15. The last line is going to pose a problem for Pau-lies free money (grant) schemes.

  16. Don’t worry by the end of the year the town is broke, they will just keep on borrowing and borrowing more money that they don’t have . And the taxes will just keep on going up to pay for it. Like we said buck, because the shits going to hit the fan big-time.
