The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love, and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department under the direction of Sheriff Anthony Cureton.

During a two-week investigation by detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Investigation Squad and officers from the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department, MICHAEL STRZELCZYK was identified as a suspect in an investigation involving repeated and ongoing threats of violence towards an employee of the BCPO and their family member.

On Monday, May 9, 2022, members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department served STRZELCZYK with a criminal complaint without incident at the Bergen County Jail, where he is currently incarcerated on charges unrelated to this investigation.

MICHAEL STRZELCZYK was charged with third-degree terroristic threats, N.J.S.A. 2C:12-3a; and fourth degree stalking, N.J.S.A. 2C:12-10b.

Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and would like to thank the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department for their assistance in this investigation.
