Hackensack NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of JASON J. CAMPBELL (DOB: 8/03/1990; single; security guard) of 1138 Easton Street, Orlando, Florida on charges of endangering welfare of a child, distribution of child pornography, sexual assault, extortion, debauching the morals of a child, and terroristic threats. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love.
In August 2021, members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit received information that a child younger than 13 from Bergen County was being contacted on social media by several strangers who engaged in sexually explicit conversations. It was determined that several different online personalities engaged the same child victim in separate conversations, some of which contained sexually explicit content and dialogue.
A months-long investigation was initiated by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit to identify the online accounts involved. The investigation revealed that JASON J. CAMPBELL of Orlando, Florida controlled all of the online accounts contacting the child and engaged in sexually explicit dialogue while posing as multiple, separate bogus online identities. The investigation also revealed that CAMPBELL extorted and threatened the child, demanding photos or videos of the child engaged in various sexual acts.
On Thursday, October 28, 2021, members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit travelled to Orlando, Florida and executed a search warrant at the residence of JASON J. CAMPBELL with the coordination and assistance of the Orange County, FL Sheriff’s Office, under the direction of Sheriff John W. Mina.
As a result of the investigation, JASON J.
