We are excited to join other agencies that have adopted #9pmroutine. The following items might seem simple, or even “routine” to some, but if that was the case the majority of towns in New Jersey and nationwide would not be having vehicles burglarized or even stolen, or houses entered, etc.
Set an alarm on your phone to go off daily at 9 PM and take a quick moment to make sure your key fob is not in your car, use that same fob to make sure your vehicle is locked and continue down the list.
We all lead busy lives, but if you have this alarm to remind you to do all these things, you are saving yourself from the potential to have criminal activity happen to you.

Retired cop trolls F$&@ing the rest of us taxpayers with their $5 Viagra co-pays. Leave for Florida already, let the adults clean up the bed you’ve pooped in.
How many large, heavy bags of quarters were removed from right under the RPD’s nose to make up the $850,000 or more theft by Tommy Boy Rica? Maybe the retired police trolls posting here were in on the scam? Few cold ones after work paid in quarters? Or maybe during work protecting us from bad Verizon, NJ Transit and PSEG hombres?
The work they do for the PSE&G and other “outside jobs” is paid back to the town by whomever the police are working for. They do it on their off days so it does not interfere with the performance with their regular shifts. Does anyone know where the “money room” was located? Was it even in a spot that the police could see–meaning inside their offices?
Blah blah blah. More police union BS. Why does the RPD charge so much OT to Village taxpayers if they have so much time for “extra duty” work? How does OT get inflated in the three years prior to retirement which drives the full pension payout? And why do you all defend the practice so much? Ratepayers get screwed twice: through our taxes which pay for the fuel and depreciation on the police cars, cellphone usage, etc, and through higher utility rates because the utilities just pass the cost through to us in their rates. Hire auxiliary officers (“specials”) and I guarantee you the OT hours billed to Vilkagers for full-time officers would decline. It’s a scam.
Keeping telling your big lie about how “extra duty” work is of net benefit to Village taxpayers. If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. Why not try specials a few years and see what happens on police overtime?
9 pm routine is not rocket science ..it’s called taking out the days garbage..or for some stepping out for a smoke .
most of my neighbors know who lives here as well as the
mail crew etc..The drive up package deliveries 24 x 7 is one variable where anyone with an empty box can walk onto your property and test a car door or look for a key Fob
in your cup holder area of your car. Car theives usually work in crews for easy access in and out of your street.
Ring Cameras can’t do it all ESP for drug addicts and other losers. if it feels wrong..call the local police..
