Allendale Police Officer Suspended After Interfering with the Scene of an Accident in Ridgewood

Ridgewood  NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of VICTOR T. BARTOLOMA (DOB: 9/25/1987; single; police officer) of Mahwah, NJ on a charge of hindering apprehension. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love.

Allendale Swears in a New Mayor

Allendale NJ, on January 5th the Allendale Mayor and Council held its annual Reorganization Meeting. Assemblyman Christopher DePhillips presented Mayor Ari Bernstein and Councilman Steve Sasso proclamations honoring their service to the Borough. Amy Wilczynski was sworn in as Allendale’s new Mayor. Tyler Yaccarino joined Matt O’Toole in being sworn in as members of the Council.
Rounding out the evening was the swearing-in of our Allendale Fire Department and Volunteer Ambulance Corp. leadership. Last but not least we had the swearing-in of Allendale’s newest Police Officers John Rubino and Mark Dunn, Jr.

Allendale Says No to Cell Pole Sighting Too Many Variances

Allendale NJ, the borough’s Land Use Board denied an application to install a second cell pole 172 feet from the first one, off West Crescent Avenue after two hearings this week. “I’m concerned with the number of variances,” Chairman Kevin Quinn told the Bergen Record . “If it was the right plan it wouldn’t need so many.” That’s nine variances in total requested to install the pole .

Allendale Police Officer Helps Deliver a Baby

Allendale NJ, Allendale Police Officer Alex Helmer had a day on the job he won’t soon forget after helping deliver a baby at a borough home. While on patrol, Officer Helmer was flagged down by a motorist, the baby’s father, who was rushing to get home to meet his wife who was in active labor. When Officer Helmer arrived at the home, baby Amelia was making her entrance into the world. Officer Helmer used his training to help mom deliver a beautiful, happy, and healthy baby girl! Mom and Amelia are doing great. Officer Helmer and Amelia now have a lifelong bond. We are excited to see Amelia grow and congratulate mom, dad, and big brother!

Teenager Dies in Allendale House Fire

Allendale NJ, on Saturday as a 17-year-old girl died in a house fire in Allendale on Bonnie Way. Police received numerous calls about a fire on Bonnie Way and found a neighborhood filled with smoke and a  single-family home on fire at about 5:15 p.m.

Allendale NJ, Faced with the increasing costs and complexity of operating the Borough’s water system, the Allendale Water Committee began considering a sale to an experienced water company as well as several other options beginning in 2019. The decision was made to sell the system to a water company with the experience and financial resources to maintain, operate and rehabilitate the system. SUEZ, which has been a partner with Allendale for two decades, was the high bidder.
