Paramus NJ, A late Thursday afternoon, 06/15, fire in a computer server room at Bergen Community College’s Paramus campus forced the temporary evacuation of a building and warranted the response of Borough of Paramus and County of Bergen HazMat teams due to the activation of a fm200 chemical agent fire suppression system. A Paramus EMS ambulance crew was called to stand by at the fire scene, but was shortly released by fire department supervisors after it was determined that no one was injured when the suppression system activated. Damage was reported to at least one (1) computer server. Bergen County Sheriff’s officers were also observed at the scene. Paramus FD and Rescue Squad personnel were active within the fire building.
