Ridgewood NJ, Bernadette Coghlan-Walsh,   19 Year Ridgewood Resident, wife and mother of three has entered the race to reclaim a Council seat.

Coghlan-Walsh was first elected to the Ridgewood Village Council in 2010 and won in a landslide earning the top vote getter accolade.  She served with Distinction for four years and has remained involved in Village activities ever since.  “I’ve received overwhelming support on my new Council bid and want nothing more than to do what’s right for the Village.  Ridgewood needs honest, reliable citizens to serve on the Village Council and I believe I have proven my mettle over the years.”

Coghlan-Walsh is the Head of Global Workforce Mobility for Region Americas at Linde Gas and also manages their Non-commercial Fleet of over 250 vehicles.  Mrs. Coghlan-Walsh holds designations through Worldwide ERC signifying her mastery of Workforce Mobility both Domestic and International including Talent Management and Labor Relations.  She is poly-lingual and works daily on Immigration issues affecting employees throughout North, Central and South America.  Mrs. Coghlan-Walsh is also a State Licensed Residential Real Estate Appraiser inNew Jersey.

Bernadette currently serves on the Planning Committee of the New Jersey Relocation Council, a Girl Scout Leader for Troop 1326 in Ridgewood, Member of the Women’s Club of Ridgewood where she served as President of Juniors from 2009-2010 and an Our Lady of Mt. Carmel parishioner where she’s volunteered as CCD teacher and served on the MOMs Circle of Care.  An avid horseback rider she has the distinguished honor of being the Children’s Ambassador of the Garden State Horse Show for the past 4 years.

Her past experience within Ridgewood includes serving on the Ridgewood Planning Board, Historic Preservation Commission, Parks & Recreation Commission, Field Committee, Ridgewood Environmental Advisory Committee and the Bergen County League of Municipalities.

“Ridgewood is a vibrant, upbeat and friendly community.  I fully believe residents have become engaged in such large numbers recently because they don’t believe their voices are being heard nor understood by the current Council.   I believe any vote in May will be for a fresh perspective and return to civility for everyone on both sides of the aisle.  I’ll work tirelessly for Ridgewood, I only ask that residents support me and cast one of their votes for Bernadette Coghlan-Walsh”.

Bernadette will be listed on the upcoming Ballot in Row 4.

  1. This is the best news of the day. Order and normalcy can finally be restored to the Dias. Thank you Bernie!

  2. So glad Bernie decided to run! We’d be lucky to have her back on the Council.

  3. She has my vote !

  4. Feel the Bern!!

  5. “Here comes the BOOM!” Good luck Bernie.

  6. Bernadette Walsh is smart, level-headed, honest, and unfailingly patient with those who are determined to disagree with her. This eventually infuriates those who are determined to disagree with her (for example, our current Mayor and Deputy Mayor). They usually end up looking kind of dumb by comparison, or if not dumb, then at least thick-headed or obstinate. Moreover, they are usually eventually revealed to have ulterior, self-serving motives. By contrast, one may safely presume Ms. Walsh will work harmoniously with Councilpersons Sedon and Knudsen, each of whom shares many of Ms. Walsh’s favorable personal qualities. The political skies really have brightened appreciably in Ridgewood with the news about Ms. Walsh’s candidacy. One hopes the rumors about the similar suitability of two of five of her fellow candidates are true. How great would it be if we had five reasonable, intelligent, unconflicted residents on the Village Council for at least two years? A lot of progress could be made in a short period of time, including important personnel changes and (plural?) changes to outside legal counsel, as other commenters have alluded to, the net effect of which should be to increase the overall professionalism of governmental activity in the village, and to root out naked political activity and creeping cronyism occurring in blatant contravention of the Faulkner Act.

  7. Ridgewood is second choice for Bernie…she wanted to be a Freeholder.

How about Mad Mary P as a council candidate…? I’m told she ripped the BOE the other night. Could be very entertaining to have her up on the dais !

  8. So what 5:21.

  9. Nice try 5:21. She’s remained committed to Ridgewood. Actually, we could use her now that the so called majority is trying to force this whole garage debacle through the BCIA. You have my vote Bernie, you’ll be my first choice on the ballot.

  10. 5:21pm – a lot of people don’t get their first love, but that doesn’t mean they don’t love the second one?
It’s better to pick someone where you can say that “Ridgewood is their choice”, instead of picking someone who are builder’s and developer’s choice.

  11. How fast can we get rid of Roberta now???

  12. we all can not wait , and not just her. the ass kissers too.

  13. THE top brass are running scared.

  14. So she ran for Freeholder and didn’t make it–so what? Is this the Prom? And do we think running for a second four-year term on the Ridgewood Council was Councilman Aronsohn’s first choice? He couldn’t get anything out of the Democratic Committee and reluctantly returned to our dais.

  15. In the reorganization will Knudson be mayor? She was robbed last time

  16. She made quite a showing for freeholder. Listen. We are lucky she’s coming back. Lucky. She will have one hell of a mess to clean up

  17. Traditionally the highest vote getter from the most recent election is elevated by their peers to mayor and the second-highest to deputy mayor.

  18. Well then, let’s get Bernie the most votes!!

  19. Name one thing, just one, that Bernie accomplished when she was a councilwoman………

  20. Wrong 7:06 Traditional the highest vote get in each election cycle becomes Deputy Mayor. The only time this did not happen is when the 3 Amigos screwed Susan. The Mayor is up for grabs.

  21. Trolling again 7:16

  22. @7:16. She made arohnson and pucciareli mad, very mad and so often they screamed at her in public. Good enough for me!

  23. Who cares at this point. We need to get people elected! I’m sure it will be between Bernie and Susan and we’ll all be happy with whatever the outcome as they are both spectacular women.

  24. 7:16, well for starters she resurrected the Shade Tree Commission.

  25. Good luck BCW! Your election should mean a return to true representative government here in Ridgewood!
    S. Tovey

  26. Bernadette has been here for a while and just showing up to vote is not what we need. What we need is a worker who can cut taxes and increase revenue at the same time.

We don’t need another someone who just wants the title.
