Ridgewood NJ, At Monday evening’s BOE meeting, a resident, who is a bond analyst, spoke in regards to the potential debt load that might result from the school referendum. “…this referendum is going to run us $8 to $10 million dollars a year. That’s before we put teacher in the classroom, pencil on the desk… It’s just too much.”
Saurabh Dani said on Facebook, ” current board has made is very clear that they are not interested in fixing the process which is being used for this referendum. If you watch last night’s meeting, their comments are more about how to sell this to residents. They are on track for voting for (giving a contract) to LAN associates by March, KNOWING that an election is pending in April for MAJORITY of the seats (3 out of 5). This is repeat of what happened with High Density Housing where three council members voted for it, knowing they were not running again for re-election.
We will have to vote out all three – board members and pay contract breaking / change fee to LAN, but this disaster can be stopped”
I can not agree more. We are destroying our town with high taxes and lucrative public sector salaries benefits pensions and ridiculous early retirement ages. Put every public sector employee and teacher on a 401k like the rest of us. The people that pay their pension and benefits . Now we want to spend 70mm ?? We have lost our minds. Millenials will NOT be buying our houses in the next 5 years and moving to Ridgewood to pay 30K or 40k or 50k in taxes. Won’t happen. Zero chance .The stock market is up 300 percent last ten years and my house is worth less now than ten years ago. Sad? Very. I’m So tired of every real estate agent in town saying how great an investment Ridgewood is. It has been , and will be, a terrible investment.
And All our high school has done is fall in state rankings year after year . Wait till we have a recession. Yes it is coming. Taxes never go down in this town, only up . But your house price will collapse . We better take back our city now ,and it is probably too late.
Your dim-witted neighbors can’t understand all of this math mumbo-jumbo.
