Ridgewood NJ, In case you missed it, during last week’s Village Council Work Session, Village Manager Keith Kazmark revealed that soil testing was recently conducted at the Irene Habernickel Family Park.
However, Mr. Kazmark indicated that he has not yet received test results from the contracted testing firm, Matrix Engineering.
The Village Manager further stated that the testing was conducted as a “precautionary” measure, not in response to the many reports of possible “rogue” dumping at the site by Ridgewood Water.

It is about time. This council needs to start focusing on health over anything else. They are not proactive and only reactive. Isn’t that obvious by now.

Will they be honest with the results?
No Way !!
Love it….I’ve seen enormous piles of dirt in the parking lot over the past few years. My dog used to love walking around that parcel of land.
Same and I believe that was used for the public garden that is there
I hope they tested in many places not just one area. The foundation of a house being torn down and I believe a pool were filled in with dirt
Along with building a berm for the playground wall
Also the toxic stable was torn down
“Precautionary” my ass. Trying to avoid a lawsuit is more like it.
But if it is contaminated watch out that is used by many all the time
One giant bond issue to fix everything.
Evan thinks that’s free money.
Yes but you hey still didn’t respond to any of the employees who were there working on that project. They are not working with the people in the right group who were there.
I am thinking at this point they will get a group discount from Matrix. Why not throw in the toxic Town Garage into the mix too. One big insurance policy will be coming. Will that change our Triple AAA Rating, keith?

NJDEP told Kazmark to order testing after residents wrote to NJDEP expressing doubts as to the quality of soil at Habernickel.
Oh wow. Happy people are finally waking up. Too many in town are clueless and ignore dangers surrounding them. #water
