Hackensack NJ, Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco today rescinded his Executive Order declaring a State of Emergency in the County at the request of the Governor. The County Executive will hold a news conference today – March 19 – at 5:30 p.m. at Two Bergen County Plaza to discuss these recent developments and the next steps he will be taking to protect the residents, visitors and workers of Bergen County.
Tedesco said on Wednesday that he submitted the revised executive order to the Governor for review. During his daily briefing on Tuesday, Murphy appealed to county and local governments to coordinate with the state. “We will override local and county actions to make sure we are consistent in our approach,” Murphy said.
As a result of discussions with the Murphy administration, according to the county, EO #2020-1B will not be implemented on Saturday March 20th at 8 a.m. The Murphy Administration has stated that the only closures that could be enforced were those issued by the Governor.
Executive Order 2020-1B has never been enacted but was delayed to work with the Governor’s Office and to take the opportunity to revisit areas of the Executive Order that the County had received feedback on from the business community and the public.
Tedesco said he will continue to lead the fight to slow the deadly spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) throughout Bergen County.
Prior to submitting the order for review, Tedesco on Tuesday afternoon had postponed the Saturday morning implementation of the order. On Monday night, Tedesco announced the order, which would expand restrictions on public and private activity and was set to commence 11pm on Tuesday night. It includes the temporary closure of shopping centers, offices and other facilities. Last week, Tedesco announced the supplemental executive order to the state of emergency declaration, and had ordered schools to close and transition to online learning prior the statewide schools shutdown.
The county has 114 presumptive positive cases of coronavirus, according to the NJDOH as of Wednesday afternoon.

We are governed by complete idiots in the municipalities, the counties, and the state. Morons.
Who’s on first ?
Wow, 114 cases in Bergen county, by far the most of any county in a state with 162 cases, 27 of which are unassigned to any county!!!! Bergen is 84-% of cases with an assigned county !!!!!
Where the heck are the public health officials, the BOE, the Village and County Executive Tedesco?

How’s it feel to “Eat Crow” Jimmy Boy. You and the other dem cohorts at the county did nothing but cost small business owner money and confusion with your Executive Order. You cause more damage and confusion and new we have to wait for your new revised Executive Order .
What a mess. We have so many individuals that have the flew . If they have the symptoms they need to be tested immediately. The information is not being broadcasted correctly.
Hey Jimmy hows you plans to take over Ridgewood Central Despatch coming along ? Maybe you can put that in your new Executive Order. This fiasco is exactly how the county would run Central Dispatch.
Didn’t I tell everyone four weeks ago to wash your hands.
The Village is nowhere to be seen. Terrible governance, they all seem to be nothing more than self-serving narcissists!!!
The high numbers in Bergen County are all because of higher rates of testing. Many of us have the virus but we just don’t know it.
The number of coronavirus cases in New Jersey nearly doubled again on Thursday, rising to a total of 742, including 9 deaths, Gov. Phil Murphy said. He announced 318 new cases and four additional deaths during a press conference.
As a nurses physician, if anyone is not feeling well please stay home and visit your doctor. If your symptoms get worse we recommend you be swapped. It’s very important because the symptoms to change day by day.
“Distant yourself” Next time I go to a swap meeting I will get swapped. Thanks
Keep your hands clean .
Fixed that fer ya (you’re welcome):
We are governed by ***Power Drunk Donkey Party Mini-Napoleans*** in the municipalities, the counties, and the state. ***Masochists***.
Little Jimmy got his hands slapped by Jon Corzine, I mean Governor Murphy.
Good to see the National Guard over the Bergen CC tonight. Testing starts tmrw
We think they don’t know all the facts about this dirty germ . Top Politicians are running scared. They just don’t know what to do anymore. It’s a new game every day.
Flew, despatch, get swapped? Who can take these comments serious? Are our elementary students responding? LOL
